This blog is about Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa), a medicinal leaf native to South-East Asia, with a relatively long history of human use. Interestingly, Kratom is botanically and/or chemically related to several common plants including coffee, cat’s claw, and yohimbe. However, in contrast to most psychoactive plants, Kratom produces both stimulatory and pain relieving effects when ingested.
